Wagner Weekend

We just had a wonderfully fun weekend with Ellie, Daniel, and Laurelyn!  They came over Thursday and stayed until Sunday because their mother was having surgery.

Our very first night we had a "fancy" spaghetti dinner.

There was some serious work to get done...Ellie was writing the script for this week's Hero of Faith production!
And I'm sure there were brief moments of boredom........
Daniel and Daniel right in the middle of a grueling game of
ping pong.
But all in all, it was pretty filled with fun!  In fact it seemed like we could have used more time to be together for all we wanted to do.
Laurelyn and Daniel teaming up to make the lunch while I did
Dad's reports.

Timothy and Daniel W.  playing a great Lego game that Daniel
made up.

Ellie added to the environment of the home
beautiful piano music just about every day.
She ALSO provided some VERY delicious
desserts!
A new and FUN game...DOMINION!

This is Saturday evening right before we brought everyone over to the
Y to go swimming and exercise.  Dad, Ellie, and I went for an absolutely
beautiful and brisk walk down by the lake while they were at the Y.

Then after supper a rather giddy group of tired kids sang hymns.  It was truly "A Joyful Noise"!! The last song was "Wonderful Grace of Jesus", and everyone was determined to sing every single verse!

Marching On, Marching On!

Just thought I'd post a few pictures of daily life here in the midst of our 25th year of home schooling.  Little did we know what God was beginning for us when I sat with my first little 4 year old and had great fun teaching her how to read!
Daniel at his daily piano practice.
Timothy loves animals.  Here he is with a huge set of cards he
likes to read on all sorts of animals from all the different catagories.

Joseph on his return home from the UofM is always
famished.  He's getting ready to make some
grilled cheese sandwiches. And...he is not as serious
and tough as he appears in the picture.  Usually he is pretty nice.

Another favorite pastime lately for Timothy is creating with Legos.  I told Timothy tonight that we need to mark his height on the basement wall because just these past couple of days he's been looking "tall" to me.  It could be the very beginnings of his growth spurt.
Daniel, apprentice to Joe of  "Joe's Power Equipment and Parts",
purchased his first mower, fixed it, and listed it for sale today on
Craig's list.
Here they are in their "shop".

Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.
It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep.
Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.
As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth.
Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.
