A Beautiful Poem

The following poem has been one of my favorites for many years.  Beautiful, true, and inspiring!

"More Things Are Wrought by Prayer"

More things are wrought by prayer
Than this world dreams of.
Wherefore let thy voice
Rise like a fountain for me night and day.

For what are men better than sheep or goats,
That nourish a blind life within the brain,
If, knowing God, they lift not hands of prayer,
Both for themselves and those that call them friend.

For so the whole round earth is every way
Bound by gold chains about the feet of God.

Huntleys Are Here!

The Huntley family arrived shortly after David and Kelsea left!  Esther was with them, returning from her visit with them in Dallas.  I immediately put them to work for the open house, or really what happened, was that THEY immediately got to work on the open house!

It has been a truly unbelievable summer here in MN!  First, we had rain in the early summer every day like a rain forest!  Then after just a few days in the 90s, we have had mild and gorgeous weather, even getting very cool at night!  One beautiful day, Ruth and I took the boys for a walk down by White Bear Lake.

Sam was the first to find a dandelion
that he wanted to blow.

Then John followed.

At the Gazebo!
Then we went down to the sandy beach to get to the water.

We had not planned to swim, but we decided
to let the boys go in anyway.
I was very surprised to see how clear the water was!  And a great temperature to swim in!

Some MORE July 2013 Highlights!

Hard to believe that yesterday was the end of July!  Here are a few highlights.

Daniel finished his CEF teaching last week. the clubs were taught in 2 parks in St. Paul and had good attendance.  6 children prayed at the end of the week receiving Christ as their personal Savior!
This is the team that taught at our house.  I had Timo get in on the picture.

Timothy finished his summer baseball.  This is his team. Timo thought this was the most enjoyable season yet because the boys had good behavior and were respectful.  They had a lot of fun!

Here is Coach Anderson, who has been Timo's
coach for all 5 years!

David and Kelsea visited us for just a few short days.  We were excited that Kelsea could be here for her birthday.  It ended up that she didn't feel the greatest that day, but we still celebrated anyway!  Yay for Kelsea!!
