5-Day Club 2013

Daniel and Esther went to CYIA training in Wisconsin in June, Esther as a trainer, and Daniel as a new summer missionary.  Now Daniel is teaching.  And this week is our own 5 Day Club!  It has been such an honor and privilege to have these clubs over the years.  And I truly thank the Lord that each of you children have been able to both learn and share the truth of Jesus Christ through this ministry.

4th of July

This is Paul with Ben with his dad, Dave.

 We did not have any 4th of July plans for the first time in many years.  So it was great when Jana Isaac emailed our marriage group to see if we could get together.  We had not met since Ben was diagnosed with cancer at the beginning of last October.  Since then, he has gone through a very difficult 9 months of treatment.  It really changed their lives, of course.  Now they wait for checkups every 2 months to see how he is doing.  And we have prayed for complete healing!


We had a great supper together at our house, the kids played and played outside, and then we went down to the lake for fireworks just when it was getting dark.  It was SO nice to be together again!!

The other family who came for the 4th were the Lacy's.  Here is Melanie

Garden Update (Oh boy...already?)

 I am always amazed at what can happen in a garden in just a few days!! 

Remember this picture?  This was June 3rd.

This is July 3rd.

 

And this is July 8th!!

July 8th

 Look at the difference in the zinnias in
the back of the garden from July 3rd
to July 8th... from green to colorful!  And I could almost see the coleus plants explode from one day to the next!

 God's ways are truly marvelous!  

Yard Work, Etc.....

On July 3rd, the Blue Boys were out to clear the back yard of the dead mountain ash trees.  Keep your eyes also on the slanted one falling back by the fence.

Dad was the cutter with the chain saw:  Daniel the rope holder to cause it to
fall in the right direction;  And Timothy the man to haul it away and break it up.

 When all the work was done and cleared away, I was able to lay down woodchips around the plants.  Doesn't it look nice?  It's a bit brighter with a few dead trees out of the way.
