Timothy's Birthday, May 25, 2012

Happy Birthday, Timothy!!  Timo is 11 years old today!  We had a spaghetti supper (Timo's choice), then we went to Yost to play Bocce Ball, a gift John gave him for his birthday.  Then home for cake and ice cream and Dutch Blitz.

 Doesn't this look like the perfect computer commercial?  Such "family fun"!

May piano 2012

All of you kids will relate to the activities of this past week...auditions and spring recital!!

Tuesday was audition day at Northwestern College.

Then recital was tonight, Thursday.  (Daniel is behind Jenny.)

I wish you could have heard these two boys play tonight.  It was great!  Just like all of you in the past!  Leah (you remember Jenny's life-time friend who was always at the recitals) told me afterward that she is sad to see it coming to the end of the Molitors!!  I truly am very proud about how excellently you all applied yourselves, and how well you have done!

Oh, yeah...  I almost forgot to say that both Daniel and Timothy got
superior-plus ratings on their auditions!

Tournament Day Saturday May 19, 2012

Some photos from Tournament Day for Joseph and Daniel's Lion's baseball team.  It was a very fun day!  It was held far away in Farmington. Medfords came to watch, Daniel and Joseph both played very well, their team won the first place trophy, and finally...the Medford's asked us to come to their house for supper on the spur of the moment!  

The field is literally out in the middle of corn fields.
So John and Timo had fun playing frisbee during the breaks!

I knew it would probably not  capture the true beauty, but I got some pictures anyway!

We had supper, visited, played frisbee and pingpong, and then sang some hymns together.  Lastly we played a very lingering game of 4-on-a-couch, which ended with an agreed-upon 3-on-a-smaller-couch instead!  By that point we didn't care anymore if the boys or the girls won! We got home at 11:45 p.m.!  It was quite a day!

Mother's Day 2012

I had a very enjoyable Mother's Day.  After I took a 3-hour (!!), much-needed nap in the afternoon, we had a nice supper together that Esther prepared.  Then we went on a walk at the nature center and returned to watch a video together.  It was a man who spoke on Psalm 91:1, dwelling in the secret place of the most high.  It was mainly a story of his mother, who had contracted polio, and how God powerfully used her life, and how it had affected him.  Very good!

Before we left on our walk, Dad wanted to go and get a picture of the azalea bush that our neighbors have.  Every year we are in awe of its beauty, so it is good to get it on record for ourselves.  When Dad knocked on the door to get permission, the owner came out to take a picture of us all by the "bush". I met and talked to his wife a few times after we moved in, and they have lived in their house since about Dad's last couple of years of high school!  They put in the azalea bush about 20 years ago, he said.  But it was very small then. The flowers up close are each one amazingly beautiful and aromatic.

As you can see, they were reluctantly obeying
my request that they all act like a frog themselves.

 The giant frog made out of all sorts of interesting "junk"still sits at the Nature Center.  So I also felt we must get a picture of it for posterity before it is ever hauled away!  

I did not realize that there was a reflective sign on the frog till these pictures were taken.  Nice effect, though, I think!

 Next, a walk down to the peaceful little pond...

 Well, it WAS  peaceful until a certain someone leaped over the rail into it!!

Some May Photos from Home...

Well, just as you would guess, May proves to be the same very busy month for our family that it always has been.  You know, preparing for piano auditions, caddying starting, yard work needing to get done, something with baseball for at least 1 boy daily, open houses starting, nice weather (and people) calling for you to drop everything and just get outside!  And of course, trying to finish school in the midst of it all!  

Kristi was in town for just one or two days en route to
Columbia University (NY), where she is starting graduate school
hoping to pursue a degree in ethnomusicology. It was great
to see her !

Last Saturday, Daniel went out for his first
caddy experience.  He left early, intending to
shadow another caddy for the first time.
So he got out right away, and after they started
one of the men who had a cart decided he wanted
a caddy!  So Daniel caddied without shadowing,
and the generous man gave him $40.00 and an
excellent rating on every category!! God blessed Daniel
with a great start!!

At North Oaks, they wear specific uniforms:
white collared shirt, khaki shorts or pants,
and a North Oaks cap, which the caddy must purchase
for $10.00.  Thankfully, Joseph's cap was like new, and
Daniel got it for $5.00.

Esther got home last Saturday, so we have already had one great week with her!  How nice to have one of the girls here again!  Almost as soon as she got home, she said, "Would you like me to make supper?"  I had it planned, but it was great to have her take charge of it while I got Dad's reports done.  It is truly wonderful to have a family of children who like to cook!!!  I have always been blessed this way! (Boys included!)  


See the bouquet in the picture?  It is one week old today, and honestly, it looks just as beautiful and fresh as it did when I bought it!  Esther said, "It would be great if it lasts the whole time I'm here!"


We only have one month with her home, as she is planning to return to Wheaton to work a summer internship at her home church in Wheaton.  Then she will go directly from that to preparation for her job as an R.A. this next year at Wheaton College.  She is very excited about these different opportunities, and I am confident, that by the Lord's grace, she will do a wonderful job!


Some of the things Esther is doing while home:  Crocheting an afghan (it is a beautiful soft blue color), cooking, reading, Bible study, running, creating the decorations needed for her dorm floor that she will be the R.A. for, spending time with friends, and just hanging out with US!
