Today in Minnesota

Hey, Adam, I heard from Ruth that it was like the middle of summer down in Dallas today.  So I thought you'd enjoy seeing what we hardy Minnesotans are enduring!  Just last night was the biggest blizzard this year. Certainly not the biggest I've seen in my years, but definitely a pretty good blizzard!
These first pictures are at 6:30 a.m.

Thankfully Timothy and Paul had shoveled during the night blizzard,
and Paul did his last round at about 1 a.m.

Later today, the sun came out and it was very
beautiful with the blue sky.  However, the roads
and highways were not so nice!

A Budding Chef!

Timothy made a delicious supper for the family last week.  He got the recipe out of the cook book we girls got from Kelsea called, So Easy by Ellie Krieger.
It is called four-cheese baked penne.

It was delicious!  And only a little was left after supper,
which was eaten for lunch the next day.
It has always been nice to have boys that like to cook.  I'm hoping that both Timo and Daniel can choose a more special meal like this every month to do on their own for us!

Our Anniversary

Dad took off on our anniversary, and we spent a whole day alone together!
It was our 33rd anniversary!

In the morning, we went to walk at the New Brighton Community Center.
They have a walking track around the gym, and a great-looking play
place where we hope to take the grandkids when they visit.

A coffee shop time is always a favorite, so
then we went to Caribou.
We didn't get to our hotel till about 4 pm, but we were able to stay till noon the next day. We just brought a simple supper with us since we didn't really want to go out.  And we appreciated hearing from all of our children, many of whom serenaded us with the traditional  "Happy Anniversary" song.  Thank you!
I got Dad some new pajamas!
We are both so very grateful for God's faithfulness to us over all these years! (This photo was Dad's idea : )

A Beautiful Blossom!

Did I tell you that the Christmas cactus that I got for a gift dropped ALL of its buds, and kept ONE bud?  Then that bud blossomed!
