Finally !! Some Blog Posts in Draft for Awhile!!

Since mid-March, I have been busy living out what blog posts are made of!! So I will be posting some that have been in the draft stage for awhile.

Little Reid Robert Molitor was born to proud parents, David and Kelsea, on March 6, 2014, in Champaign, IL. I had to get on my blog some of my favorite pictures we got before meeting him in person (see previous posts), and then a couple more recent photos of this wonderful new little life in our family.  Reid is soon to be 3 months old!

Then when they brought little Reid home, Kelsea's dad and mom were with them, which meant that they had a professional photographer right in their own home!

Joseph's Summer Job

Here is the truck that Joseph is driving this summer for Ace Ice.  

Joseph stopped for lunch at a MacDonalds, and guess who he met?
Setting Sun, the truck he drove last summer! ("Setting Sun" because
it made the deliveries out west of the cities.)  So Joseph got  a picture
of the two of them next to each other! Setting Sun is the smaller
Arctic Glacier, and Joseph's truck this year is the Ace Ice

Happy 13th Birthday, Timothy!!

Today was Timothy's 13th birthday. We celebrated all day yesterday (Saturday) by having Joseph Shir come over and spend the night.  Early in the afternoon, Esther, Joseph S., and Timothy went on a bike ride on trails off of Hwy 96.  It was a beautiful afternoon, and they enjoyed the ride greatly.  Then Timothy, Joseph S., and Daniel went to play Frisbee golf.  I was at home at the time making Timothy's candy card!

When Joseph (Molitor) got home from work, we had supper and ice cream cake for dessert.

After supper, Timothy received a couple of gifts, and then I presented him with the gift that he had reminded me of a couple of months ago, as though I would forget!

I guess this is the end of another era,  "The Candy Card on your 13th birthday!", now that Timothy is 13!

Everyone had had a very full and enjoyable day and were ready for bed.  But they decided to play a little Catch Phrase before retiring.  Notice Joseph's elevated foot on ice.  He sprained it very badly at work on Wednesday, but is still working, using a brace.  (Thankfully Thursday was his day off!)

A Mother's Day Surprise and A "Thank You"

I was surprised and very pleased to find a beautiful bouquet from all of my children when Dad and I arrived home tonight!  And with it was a very generous gift card to Bachman's!  I was not expecting anything else than the nice phone calls I had already received yesterday. This is a most beautiful and very thoughtful gift.  Now you will all have a part in my garden, which I have already been praying for!  Thank you so very much Adam, Ruth, David, Kelsea, Dan, Rebecca, John, Esther, Joseph, Daniel and Timothy.  You are all such a great blessing to me.  I love you tons!!

Esther's Wheaton Graduation

We had a truly great weekend celebrating Esther's graduation. Tiring, yes...but well worth the trip!

Saturday evening when we (Dad, John, and I) arrived,  we stopped in
at Esther's house.   All the girls were packing up, and some other
 parents were there too. We went out for a short while together to
get pizza, then all went to our places to get some much-needed sleep!

Sunday, after the morning service at Esther's church (College Church),
 we four enjoyed a very nice brunch for seniors and their families
 at the cafeteria. I was glad that I was with 2 of my children on
 Mother's Day!  And I was happy to hear from all the others by phone!

After the brunch, we went to Esther's house and got all her stuff packed into the car.  I wish I had taken a picture of the car! Thankfully, someone warned us of rain forecast for later in the afternoon, so we walked back to campus and got some pictures taken before the graduation.

Nothing...it just happened to be there!

And Ben graduated too!

I got this picture from WAY back in the Edman Auditorium!  Esther,
 as you can see, got a very central position for seeing and hearing
the speakers!

Then the other rows came in front of her.

But we were able to see her if we tried hard enough through the
whole service.  The speaker was Mr. David Iglesias, a father of
one of the graduates.  And it was really a great talk! I was pleasantly
surprised that I actually enjoyed the whole thing! (You know how
long graduations get!)

Sure enough, as forecast, just as the service ended, there came a GREAT rain storm.  Most of the people, as a result, stayed inside for about an hour. When it died down, John left for home (Madison), and we decided to try to make it over to Esther's house. But after we had gone about a block, the downpour started again, and we got drenched running to Esther's house for about the 4th time that day! Finally, Dad and I squished with Esther into the 2 front seats of the car, stopped back at the auditorium to meet Ben's parents, went downtown to buy some food for Esther, dropped her back at her house, and went back to our hotel room and were fast asleep before 10 p.m.!  

Dad and I took a very leisurely trip back home today (Monday), with lots of time to talk and pray. We even got out at one point to hike up a path to a scenic overlook.

It was a great trip!
