Egg Coloring and Hymn Sing on Good Friday

The Alzen family joined us at Straitgate for the Good Friday mid-day service.  Then they, the Wagners, and Jeremiah Watson came over for our annual egg coloring. I had boiled 5 dozen eggs, and they each brought 2 dozen eggs, so we had more than enough!! (We didn't do them all!)
Jeremiah, Daniel, and Timothy

Jacob and his beautiful brown egg.
Jonas was especially proud of this brilliant blue one!

Analise, Lucas, Tessa

You may notice that we had "hair", eyes and mouths to put on the eggs.  That's because when I bought the dyes at Walmart, all that was available was the Monster kit! But they had a lot of fun with it, and were quite creative!
Laurelyn, Ellie, Jonas, and Denise
Diligently working

Timothy's devil egg.  Doesn't Timo's sad face reflect
what you would expect?

Tessa's egg complete with beard and mustache!

The Daniel's made these wrestlersl

And here they are ready for the match! Then they set them up
to be admired on top of Styrofoam cups on the dining room
table.  Sadly, later that evening after the hymn sing when everyone
had gone home, Daniel found BOTH of them
peeled and eaten!
After supper, our guests began to arrive for the hymn sing.  50 people came, our living room was filled to actual overflowing, and the singing was ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!!  Esther arrived home from Wheaton about an hour before the hymn sing, and it was wonderful to have her accompanying on the piano along with several violins and Analise on the mandolin.  A true foretaste, be it ever so small, of heaven!!
